Notes: If there are important files on your drive, please backup the files first.
1. How do you format the USB thumb drive to FAT32?
- Plug your USB drive into your computer.
- Open [File Explorer]>[This PC], then under [Devices and drives], right-click on the USB storage and select [Format].
- Change the [File system] to FAT32, then click [Start].
2. What if the USB thumb drive storage is larger than 32GB and not in FAT32 format (Unable to be formatted via Windows), what is the easiest way to format it to FAT32?
For Android 9 and 12 devices:
- Plug your USB drive into IAdea's tablet.
- Swipe down from the top side of your screen to pull down the notification bar.
- You will see a notification indicating an issue with the USB drive [Issue with USB drive; Tap to fix]. Tap the notification.
- Click [Format the USB drive].
- Click [Done]
Alternatively: Go to the Android home page by tapping 3x on the bottom right corner of the Advanced page, then click [Settings] > [Storage] > Choose [Disk] > [Set up] > [Format USB].
For Android 4.4 and 7.1 devices:
- You will need to format it on Windows using CMD or PowerShell.
