To maintain pace with IAdea's ongoing efforts to enhance overall security across all our products, we have introduced an upgrade to Android 9 OS. This upgrade extends to our latest media devices and smart signboards, providing enhanced access control alongside stricter password protection measures.
The Android 9 OS implements a more stringent password protection protocol to mitigate unauthorized access. When an IAdea device or signboard equipped with Android 9 OS is playing content and is password protected, all USB interventions will be deferred until the device is unlocked with the password.
The introduction of this additional step, requiring content playback to be paused and the player to be unlocked before collecting DEBUG logs via USB, may lead to some confusion. Unlike our devices running Android 4.4 and Android 7.1 OS, which did not require player unlocking when password protected.
For streamlined debugging processes, particularly for devices running Android 9, we recommend utilizing our IAdeaCare service. We encourage users to register for an IAdeaCare account for an easy and efficient way to manage their IAdea solutions remotely.
