Upgrade instructions

  1. Download the latest firmware using Chrome or Firefox web browser and copy it onto root directory of an USB drive
  2. Power on device and plug in USB mouse to the device
  3. From Basic Settings menu, go to Advanced > System > Firmware Update. Insert USB drive to the device and do NOT remove USB drive until player reboots to the Basic Settings menu

  • New feature: Added support for GPIO events for PIO-101/102 devices.
  • New feature: Introduced “persistentWhenScreenOff” in the REST API, allowing the LED status light to remain on when the screen enters screen-off or screensaver mode.
  • Behavior change: Reverted the cookies handling behavior; session cookies will no longer be cleared by default.
  • Improvement: Enhanced security by enabling only TLS 1.2 and 1.3 for the REST API.
  • Bug fix: Auto-correction is now disabled by default as intended.
  • Resolved several compatibility issues and optimized overall firmware performance.

  • New feature: User can now access HID Omnikey reader from device browser by accessing http://omnikey-reader.private.
  • Enhancement: Upgrade Chrome to v.107.

  • Bug fix: Volume adjust bar will no longer pop-up after calling REST-API hardware/audioOut.

  • Improvement: improve reading sensitivity for HID cards.
  • Improvement: password input timeout has increased from 1 min to 3 min and timeout between each input key stroke has increased from 10 sec to 15 sec.
  • Bug fix: update day light saving time table to reflect new changes for some regions and countries.
  • Bug fix: fixing the issue where hardware accelerator may be conflicting with web view engine thus causing distorted image on screen.

  • New feature: handling web error by automatic refreshing web view when error occurs
  • Note: Android 9.0 must set FLAG_SHOW_WHEN_LOCKED to allow displaying soft keyboard when the system is password protected (e.g. locked). Please refer to IAdea APK developer supplemental guide for more detail.
  • Note: Android 9.0 has new restriction on server communication using a cleartext, update network security configuration is necessary. Please refer to IAdea APK developer supplemental guide for more detail.
